Le Cordon Bleu presents a Wine and Spirits program which is divided into 3 modules:
Each module is composed of seven tastings in consecutive weeks. Wines are chosen with care to illustrate each theme. The ambience at wine-tastings is studious and animated. Each student is encouraged to engage actively in the discussion. You will quickly develop your palate, for professional success and personal satisfaction. You will be amazed how much you learn.
Tastings are held on weekday evenings, 7:00-9:00 pm. In the tradition of training at Le Cordon Bleu, each module is translated into English.
All modules are proposed every trimester: January, March, June, and September - for starting dates please go to programs and apply (Wine and Management Diploma/Wine & Spirits Initiation).
Learn the tasting techniques that will allow you to fully appreciate wine: sensory analysis, viticulture and wine-making techniques, wine legislation, food and wine pairing, vintages, storing and serving wine. Taste and discover the unique qualities of French wines, from regional appellations through to “grand crus”.
Following this course, we advise continuing with Module II.
A series of wine-tastings explore the richness and diversity of the French wine regions, including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Alsace and Rhone Valley. You will encounter a representative range of French wines, from regional appellations to "grand crus". How can you resist!
Following this course, we advise continuing with Module III
Over the last 20 years wines throughout the world have changed dramatically and are now engaged in fierce competition in their quest for excellence. The great classic wines of Europe have never been better but quality wines from Australia, California, South Africa, Chile, Argentina and New Zealand are now competing with them. This module is about broadening your tasting horizons, discovering exceptional wines from a number of different countries, and even includes "eaux-de-vie” and liqueurs. A whole new universe to explore!
The Wine and Spirits Program - 1,310 € for 3 modules - 460 € for each module
