World Cuisines at Le Cordon Bleu Paris
In order to celebrate the international culinary talent that the CookBook Fair brings to the fore, prestigious chefs and consultants have been invited to the Le Cordon Bleu Paris Academy to carry out demonstrations and conferences during the same week.

Singapore : Celebrity Chef Devagi Sanmugam conducts an Asian master class - Wednesday 7 March 2012 at 6.30 pm
Television and radio personality, cookbook author, food columnist, cooking instructor, entrepreneur; the list of accolades that can be used to describe Devagi Sanmugam is almost as diverse and inventive as her recipes.
One of Singapore's most dynamic and talented food personalities and widely known as the ‘Spice Queen’ of Singapore, she has published an astounding 19 cookbooks, teaching the finer points of Asian Cuisine. "Cooking is in my blood and my passion is sharing it" stated Devagi Sanmugam.
Chef Devagi is one of the four finalists in the prestigious "Woman Chef" category of the Gourmand Paris Cookbook Fair, which will be held in Paris from 7 to 11 March 2012, for her book Indian Heritage Cooking published by Marshall Cavendish.
Chef Devagi is also the Managing Director of Devagi’s Epicurean World Pte Ltd, a culinary services provider based in Singapore and has worked with over 150 clients in the food and beverage industry in recent years.
Chef Devagi is fascinated by anything food related from product origin to the delicate combination of flavors and spices and invites you to share her culinary enthusiasm on this voyage of discovery in the fascinating world of Asian cuisine.

India : Celebrity Chefs Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma - Thursday 8 March 2012 at 6.00 pm
Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma are the stars of the hit Indian lifestyle show "Highway On My Plate".

Their book Highway on my plate, adapted from the TV series and published by Random House NDTV, is one of the four finalists for the “TV rest of the World” award at the Gourmand Paris Cookbook Fair, which will be held in Paris from 7 to 11 March 2012.
"The Rock Stars of the Indian food scene" (eatanddust.com), Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma have both had an eclectic career. Rocky Singh has run his own restaurant, headed a multinational as CEO and is currently based in Dubai as the GM of a corporate training organization. A wild life enthusiast and an ornithologist, his passion is food and traveling. Mayur Sharma is based out of Delhi. He is an outdoor experiential educator and works with children and corporate clients in developing interpersonal relationships. An avid traveller Mayur has lived, worked and backpacked his way across over 60 countries in the past decade.

Francisco Fantini, Gustavo Mazuela and Rodrigo Durand reveal the secrets of Patagonian cuisine

Patagonia Cuisine by Francisco Fantini, is one of the twelve finalists for the “Cookbook of the year” award at the Gourmand Paris Cookbook Fair, which will be held in Paris from 7 to 11 March 2012.
Francisco Fantini – Gourmet Patagonia publishing director and a specialist in Patagonian cuisine – will share his experiences as an author and take you on a journey through Patagonia, discovering local fine gastronomy, which combines simplicity and pleasure.
Gourmet Patagonia’s chefs, Gustavo Mazuela and Rodrigo Durand, will then carry out a demonstration of four Patagonian recipes with a pairing suggestion of local wines. Come and enjoy gastronomy from the ends of the earth!

Originally from Peru -- specifically a valley between Puno and Cusco -- the potato adapted to a wide range of altitudes and climates in Peru and America before being introduced to Europe. The potato once again demonstrated great adaptability as it spread throughout the European continent and became an integral part of local society.
